In this article I will share my thoughts about the K-Edge Sport Mount for Wahoo Elemnt Bolt (or Wahoo Elemnt Roam). K-Edge is a well known premium brand for aluminum cycling computer mounts and chain catchers. K-Edge is part of the World Tour pro peloton for many years, and offers products for road, mountainbike, gravel and more.

On the K-Edge Sport Mount product page one can read:

I also own a K-Edge Race Mount which I used in my Garmin Edge 510 days (and still fully functional on my gravel bike). The main difference is the clamping mechanism, which has a pivot and 1 bolt on the K-Edge Race Mount, where the Sports Mount has no pivot, two half’s plus a plastic insert and 2 bolts to tighten the clamp to specification.
However the K-Edge Sports Mount is a rock solid option for quality cycling computer mounts. Probably one of the first that would come to mind if you go for a handlebar clamped option. The weight differences between the Race and the Sports mount are minimal, however the price-point is almost 50% less with similar high quality.
Wahoo or Garmin ? Same K-Edge Mount different inserts
If you own a Garmin of Wahoo device, K-Edge has you covered. For the Sport Mount and Race Mount for example you can select the Garmin or Wahoo version.
The difference is the replaceable Garmin or Wahoo co-polymer plastic insert. You can also purchase the inserts separately so if you switch between cycling computers, it is good to have both inserts (or a solution like the Wahoo Garmin Quarter Turn Adapter). The price-point of an insert is € 7,00 – € 8,00 which should extend the lifetime of your quality K-edge computer mount.
If you own a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt v2, K-Edge has a very cool option for you. The K-Edge Bolt 2.0 Aero Race Bicycle Computer Mount, which is a aluminum high quality version of the plastic aero computer mount that comes default with the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt v2.
Installation K-Edge Sport Mount for Wahoo Elemnt
Installation is super easy, and doesn’t require a manual if you ask me.
- Apply some Morgan Blue Aquaproof Paste or Weldtite TF2 Lithium Grease on the bolt thread;
- Apply Dynamic Carbon Assembly Paste on both handlebar and inside of the K-Edge Sport Mount clamp;
- Position both parts over and under the handlebar, and hand-tighten one bolt;
- Hand tighten the second bolt and finetune the position of the K-Edge Sport Mount (position and angle);
- Tighten the bolts to specification with a torque wrench r torque screwdriver that can accommodate the 1.0 Nm range;
The torque specification might be the most difficult since the Wera 7515 Kraftform Safe-Torque Speed Torque Screwdriver and the Stahlwille Manoskop 730N/2 Mechanical Torque Wrench both start at 2.0 Nm.
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price point of the K-Edge Sport Mount for Wahoo Elemnt Bolt or Roam is around € 30,00 – € 35,00. Not cheap but very reasonable for a high quality aluminum computer mount. The price-point of an replaceable Garmin or Wahoo co-polymer plastic insert insert is € 7,00 – € 8,00 which should extend the lifetime of your quality K-edge computer mount.
On the Scott Scale 925 I use a Syncros K-Edge Top Cap Computer Mount in combination with a Garmin Edge 840 computer.
