In this article I will review the RAVEMEN FR300 front light that will perfectly fit on your trusted Garmin and Wahoo Cycling Computer mounts. With autumn and winter it is highly important to be seen, so have some proper lights on your bike(s) is key.

Key Features Ravemen FR300 Front Light
On the Ravemen FR300 product page you can dear this description (and down on the page some key product features)
RAVEMEN FR300 is a highly visible daytime running headlight to help you ride safely. It gives out 300 lumens in the warning flashing mode and works with Garmin/Wahoo computer mounts to keep your handlebar clean. It can also be a power bank to charge your bike computer when in need. With the auto on-off mode, you can use the light conveniently. Make sure you are visible and ride safely with RAVEMEN FR300.
The absolute killer feature for me is that the RAVEMEN FR300 is simply mounted on your Garmin or Wahoo computer mount and gives you the option to mount the Garmin Edge 840 on top of the RAVEMEN light. I’ve tested with multiple mounts:
- Garmin Edge Mount Viber for Vibe Stem from PRO Bikegear on the Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8 road bike;
- K-Edge Race Mount on Canyon Grizl CF SL8 1-by gravel bike (lighter version of the K-Edge Sport Mount);
- Syncros K-Edge Top Cap Computer Mount for FL-stems on the Scott Scale 925 mountain bike;
So no additional mounts on your bar just for a front light. The RAVEMEN FR300 front light has the same size as a Garmin Edge 840.
Just like the Sigma Nugget II Flash Rear Light there are a couple of modes on the RAVEMEN FR300, where the flashing is the most powerful mode that will guarantee your absolute visibility. But you can also adjust the mode to get the maximum battery life from the 1200 mAh battery.
A great design detail is that LED light strip is “going around the corner” of the rectangular shaped light. But that design detail sends out the light beam in a wider angle for better visibility. So it is certainly not a knight rider like gimmick.
The power bank feature is nice to have, but not important to me, since I haven’t done training efforts that long, that cannot be done on a single charge of the Garmin Edge 840. But if … you need to have the RAVEMEN cable with you. And only with good non-rainy weather, or at least I personally would not use it in rainy weather (despite the splash water resistance of the USB-C ports).
Ravemen FR300 on the bike
As said before the RAVEMEN FR300 has roughly the same size as a Garmin Edge 840 cycling computer. It works with your Garmin (or Wahoo) computer mount, so using the front light is as easy as putting the cycling computer in your computer mount.
Just as a double decker bus you will put the Garmin Edge 840 in the Garmin insert on top of the RAVEMEN FR300 front light. On the left side (when you sit on your saddle) you have the option to change the mode with the press of a button. I normally tend to set it before I get onto the bike.
When you want you can use the tether on the front light as well (it is included). But the price point of bike light and cycling computer are different, and I wouldn’t want to use two tehters on the bars of my Canyon and Scott bikes.
The power bank scenario I haven’t tested (yet), but there is also no direct need or pain to use the RAVEMEN light in such a way.
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price point of the RAVEMEN FR300 is around € 55,00 which is not cheap. However I purchased it in a discount action with and online shop for about € 37,00. That was for me an awesome price point for a great front light that is super easy to use.
- What do you think about the RAVEMEN FR160 and FR300 lights ?
- For which price point would you buy it ?
The RAVEMEN FR300 is the perfect duo with the Sigma Nugget II Flash Rear Light that I’ve reviewed a little while ago.
