In this article I will review the Feedback Sports RAKK Bike Stand, that I use for my road bike, mountain bike and gravel bike. Foldable, connectable and simply a high quality all-round bike stand that works. Will try to compare with ROSE Rastplatz FB 2 bike stand.
Key Design Features Feedback Sports RAKK
On the Feedback Sports RAKK product page you can read the following description that highlights the most important features:
Because you love your bicycles, when you’re not riding them you want to protect them and you need a simple, non-permanent and effective bike parking solution. The often imitated, but never duplicated RAKK is a patented, versatile bike storage idea for front or rear wheel parking. Making contact with only your tire, the RAKK is an ideal bike parking solution for expensive road, cyclocross, mountain and electric bikes. And if you have several bikes, its modular design supports add-ons.
- Ideal bicycle storage space for apartments, garages, basements, sheds or retail bike shop
- Versatile design allows for bike parking with front or rear wheel without risk of scratching rims or spokes
- Storage system fits most any road bike, cyclocross bike, mountain bike, or electric bikes
- Wheel slot accommodates 20mm road tires up to 2.25″ mountain bike tires
- Innovative design folds to a compact unit when not in use
- Spring-loaded design is hands-free – simply roll the bike into the wheel slot and the swing arm holds securely
- Modular attachments create 12″, 13.5″ or 15″ (30.5, 34.3, or 38.1cm) spacing and arranged in countless configurations
- Durable powder coated steel maintains a long-term clean finish
- Provides an awesome bike parking solution for even the heaviest of bikes
- Available in black
- Available in RAKK XL for 2.3″ – 5″ tires
- 3-Year Warranty
From a Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8 road bike with 23 mm. Specialized S-Works Turbo tires up to the Vittoria 2.25″ Mezcal tubeless tire from the Scott Scale 925, it flawlessly fits into the Feedback Sports RAKK. Reason for that it the cleverly designed wheelslot with a curved shape. (in the new RAKK 2.0 model you can finetune the wheelslot even more).
For me also important is to have a foldable design. There is a rock solid locking pin in place, on the swing arm near the pivot. Unlocking allows the swingarm to freely move, and the strong spring will do its magic accommodating the different wheel sizes. Folded, the locking pin keeps the swing arm down, resulting in a compact and low volume. Good enough to store or to take with you on a short trip where you need to store the bike or provide some basic cleaning and maintenance.
Finally each RAKK comes with two Pivot Clips attached. These clips will allow you to connect multiple RAKKs and the user manual even shows different set-up possibilities (line, small circle, large oval setup).
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price point of the Feedback Sports RAKK Bike Stand varies from € 38,00 – € 50,00, which is certainly not cheap. However we own expensive bikes, and a scratch is even more expensive to resolve. The design of the Feedback Sports RAKK Bike Stand is durable and from my point of view a good long term investment, that will proof its value.
While the ROSE Rastplatz FB2 is also a capable metal bike stand, the Feedback Sports RAKK Bike Stand is more robust and a bit better engineered. Especially the wheel slot makes the difference, together with the robust swing arm and strong spring. The ROSE Rastplatz FB2 is available for € 35,00 so for a tiny bit more investment I would opt for the RAKK Bike Stand, certainly when you own more than one bike.
Personally I own 4 RAKK Bike Stands, so potentially I could connect them and do a line set-up.
- What bike stand are you using (and for which bike) ?
- What would you be willing to invest for a bike stand ?
